Nigeria At 57: APC Chieftain Urges Buhari To Fulfill Campaign Promises
By: HighCelebritySquard
A Chieftain of the All
Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni has congratulated
Nigerians as the country marks her 57th Independence anniversary.
In a statement released to
mark the occasion, Ambassador Mumuni also advised the President Buhari-led APC
government to use the remainder of its tenure to fulfill its campaign promises
to Nigerians.
The renowned security expert
said; though this might not be the Nigeria of our dreams, the fact that the
country is not in a state of war is a thing of joy for him and millions of
Nigerians.
He said; "I rejoice
with all Nigerians on the peaceful Independence celebration. What would have
happened today if the Arewa youth had carried out their
"Igbo-must-go" October 1st threat? What would have happened to our
unity if the Biafra agitators had succeeded in breaking away from Nigeria? We
would have been in a state of war, and war doesn't solve problems but dialogue
does."
He commended President
Buhari for his timely intervention in the Biafra issue, adding that there is
still more to do in addressing the plight of the agitators and making life
comfortable for all Nigerians.
"The Buhari I know is a
truthful man. He has good intentions for Nigeria. I contested in the Lagos
Gubernatorial election in 2011 under his party, the defunct Congress for
Political Change (CPC) before the merger with Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)
and other political parties, which led to the formation of the All Progressives
Congress (APC).
"It is however sad that despite his efforts to
bring about positive change, Nigerians are yet to see or feel it. There is
serious hunger in the land.
"While Mr President's
efforts in the war against terrorism and corruption are commended, he should
use the remainder of his tenure to provide basic amenities, including good
roads, quality healthcare and abundant foods for the masses", he
concluded.
