TENSION IN APC ETI-OSA CONSTITUENCY AS MEMBERS PROTEST AGAINST IMPOSITION

It was just as if the members of All Progressive congress (APC) of Eti-Osa constituency 1 are expecting the by election time table when they heard the date for the by-election for Eti-Osa constituency 1 has been fixed for September 16 by the INEC. Earlier today members of APC in Eti-Osa constituency 1 staged a protest to  Oba Tijani Akinloye Ojomu's palace to express their grievance and agitate for a free and fair primary election of the aspirants in the party without imposition. Getting to the palace of Ojomu in Agungi-Ajiran, the king welcomed them and appreciate their peaceful really/protest to show their support for Mr Taofeek Ayinla Alimi popularly called SS younger brother of late honourable Kazeem Alimi known as Kadeco for continuity. He added that he supported their move and request to replace the late honourable with his younger brother.However he expressed disappointment in some party members who  wrote  his office three days after the death of Kadeco requesting to replace him. He then urged them to maintain peace and order by doing this while he  convey their request to the Eti-Osa leaders and APC party leaders to yearn to the request of the members.”

The crown move from their to Eti-Osa APC secretarial at Sagotedo where they meant some party leaders like Alh Ali, Akinjagunla and former Eti-Osa East local government chairman, Issa Owolabi and they express their grievances and alleged the former chairman, Owolabi of sabotage of collecting five Million naira bribe from a candidate to imposed of them. But Alh Ali address the party members to be calm that justices will be done in selecting the candidate or free and fair primary will be done.

 

One of the party members, Tope Bashir who speaks to our correspondent, told us that what prompt the protest is the betrayal character they observe in most of the party leader because the honourable position has being zone to Eti-Osa Eest particularly Ward E where the late Kadeco came from but we are surprise to see candidates coming from all party of Eti-Osa including the former sole-Administration of Eti-Osa East who was imposed on the council from Lagos Island writing to the party to contest. We just want to urge the party leaders and our national leaders particularly Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene by allowing the position to remain in Eti-Osa Eest ward E and ensure free and fair primary within the contestants coming from that ward.
It will be recollect that the honourable represting Eti-Osa constituency 1, late honourable Akeem Alimi dead last month just two weeks after his 50th birthday.
